Ways to pay
- Upfront – lowest total cost, fastest payback.
- Bank loan – several public and private banks offer rooftop solar loans, sometimes linked with government schemes.
- NBFC / vendor finance – convenient, but compare the effective interest rate carefully.
- Business models – for larger commercial roofs, RESCO/OPEX models where a developer owns the system and sells you power.
What to compare
- Interest rate and whether it is flat or reducing.
- Processing fees, prepayment charges.
- Loan tenure vs expected system life (25 years for panels).
- Whether the subsidy is adjusted against the loan.
