1. Site survey and design
The installer measures shade-free area, checks roof structure and the distribution board, and proposes a layout and capacity.
2. Approvals
Feasibility/technical approval from your DISCOM and scheme registration where applicable. Timelines vary by DISCOM.
3. Structure and panels
Galvanised or aluminium structures are anchored to the roof; panels are mounted with correct tilt (roughly equal to latitude) and spacing.
4. Electrical work
DC cabling, inverter mounting, AC connection to your distribution board, earthing, surge protection and lightning arrestor where required.
5. Inspection and net meter
DISCOM inspects the installation and installs a bi-directional meter. Only after this can export be credited.
Quality checks
- Structure firmly anchored, no rust-prone hardware.
- Cables in conduits, proper labelling, MC4 connectors.
- Separate earthing for panels and inverter.
- Commissioning report and warranty documents handed over.
